Maximise the power of your newsletter

Denise Cox, writing for Net Imperative, makes some common sense but still widely underused tips on making best use of email newsletters.

The key points she makes are:

1) Publish all your email newsletters on your website – each is effectively a microsite in itself and given the right treatment can draw traffic in from search engines. Which leads into…

2) Optimise your newsletters for your top keywords – not only will they give your company extra content for visibility, but the search engines will like the fact you’re regularly updating your website

3) Make it easy to subscribe – the people who land on your newsletter back issues probably won’t be subscribers, so make it as easy as possible for them to sign up.
